Common questions about Tribute Tees orders, design previews, shipping, and product care.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

Pick a tribute style (Honor Portrait, Folded Flag Memorial, etc.), select a product type (t-shirt, hoodie, mug), pick color and size, then upload a photo of the person you want to honor.

Add an optional note (the person's name, dates, branch of service). Add to cart, then checkout with PayPal or credit card.

We email a design preview within 24–48 hours.

Can I order more than one item?

Yes. You can add multiple items to your cart with different photos, styles, and sizes. Each item gets its own design preview. Free shipping when your subtotal reaches $100.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide. US shipping is $3.99 per item, international shipping is $9.99 per item. Delivery time is 5–10 business days (US) or 10–21 business days (international) after production.

Can I cancel an order?

Before preview approval: full refund, no questions.

After preview approval but before production starts: full refund minus a $5 design fee.

After production starts: cannot cancel — production is custom work that can't be reversed.

Design preview & approval

When do I get the design preview?

Within 24–48 hours of placing your order. You receive an email with the rendered design and a button to approve or request a revision.

What if I don't like the preview?

Reply to the preview email and tell us what you'd like changed (lighter background, different style, more focus on the face, etc.). 1 free revision is included with every order. Additional revisions are $10 each.

What if I don't respond to the preview?

If we don't hear from you within 5 calendar days of sending the preview, we proceed to production with the design as sent. This keeps production schedules predictable for all customers.

Can I see the preview on the actual product before printing?

Yes — your preview email shows the design rendered on a mockup of the t-shirt, hoodie, or mug you ordered, so you see exactly how it'll look.

Photos

What kind of photo should I upload?

Best results: a clear, well-lit photo where the person's face is visible and not in shadow.

Avoid: blurry photos, sunglasses covering eyes, group photos where it's hard to tell who you mean.

If you only have an old/scanned photo, that's OK — our team works with what you have. The AI handles imperfect source photos better than you'd expect.

What file formats do you accept?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC (iPhone photos). Maximum file size: 10 MB. Minimum recommended resolution: 800×800 pixels.

Can I upload a photo of someone who has passed away?

Absolutely. The majority of our customers honor someone they've lost. We treat memorial photos with the respect they deserve and never use them in marketing or anywhere outside your order.

Do you keep my photos?

We retain order photos for 7 years (US tax record requirement) so we can support reorders and warranty claims. Photos are stored encrypted and never shared with anyone outside our fulfillment partners.

Shipping & delivery

How long does shipping take?

United States: 5–10 business days after production

Canada: 7–14 business days

Europe (UK, Germany, France, etc.): 10–18 business days

Australia, New Zealand: 12–21 business days

Other countries: 14–28 business days

Can I track my order?

Yes. You receive a tracking number by email when your order ships. Track at any time on your order confirmation page (link in your confirmation email).

What if my package is lost or doesn't arrive?

Email us with your order number. We file the carrier claim and ship a replacement at no cost to you if tracking shows the package never arrived.

Will I pay import taxes/customs fees?

Maybe — depends on your country. Tribute Tees doesn't add these fees. They're charged by your country's customs office on imports above a certain value (usually $50–$200). We can't predict the exact amount.

Returns, refunds, reprints

Can I return my order?

Custom items can't be resold, so we don't accept returns for buyer's remorse or wrong size. BUT — if there's a defect, shipping damage, or our error, we reprint or refund at no cost to you. Read the full Return & Refund Policy for details.

What if I typed the wrong name or date on the design?

If you catch it BEFORE approving the preview: tell us, we fix it free. If you catch it AFTER the item ships: we offer a 50% discount on a reprint with the correction.

How do I claim a defect?

Email us within 14 days of delivery with:

- Your order number

- 2–3 clear photos of the defect

- Short description of the issue

We respond within 1 business day. Most defects resolved in 7–10 days.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

PayPal balance, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), debit cards. All processed securely via PayPal — we never see or store your card number.

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes for US customers — calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address. International customers don't pay US sales tax (but may pay VAT/import duties from their own country).

Is my payment secure?

Yes. PayPal is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified — the highest payment security standard. Our website uses HTTPS encryption end-to-end.

Can I pay in my local currency?

Pricing is shown in USD. PayPal converts to your local currency at checkout using their exchange rate. Your bank or card company may add a foreign transaction fee depending on their policies.

Product care

How do I wash my Tribute Tees apparel?

Turn the garment inside-out before washing.

Machine wash cold with similar colors. Mild detergent.

Tumble dry low OR hang to dry.

Do NOT bleach. Do NOT iron directly on the print.

Following these care instructions, the print holds detail through 100+ washes.

What's the t-shirt fabric?

100% premium ringspun cotton (4.3 oz / 145 gsm) for our Classic Tee. Hoodies and Long Sleeves use cotton-poly blends optimized for print durability and softness.

Will the print fade or peel?

We use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing — the ink absorbs into the cotton fibers, so it doesn't peel. Some fading is normal after 50+ washes. Following the care instructions slows fading significantly.
